Ridiculous Road Trip #2, Day 20, Kennedy Space Center
April 19
Getting down to central Florida has the wonderful benefit of luring Doug’s dad, Lorne, into our adventures! Yay!!
Lorne drove over from Tampa in the morning so we could go to the Kennedy Space Center together. It was great to go together since this was Doug and Lorne’s first visit to KSC, and I only have a few fuzzy memories from my visit at age 5.
Lorne figuring out that Doug was sitting in the space capsule in the wrong orientation.
Moon maps!
Space Shuttle Atlantis
Doug and Lorne enter the International Space Station
Neither of them heard my warning that once they entered, they had to go all the way through.
Doug finally realizes that the exit is a clear habit-trail tube suspended high in the air.
No Becker boys were harmed on their journey. But there may have been mocking.
The exciting thing that happened, was that we got to see a SpaceEx launch while we were there!!! So very cool!
After a pretty full day of exploring the Space Center, we followed Lorne home. We’re looking forward to spending some time day tripping with him for the next few days.
